Artemis is a custom-built 4-berth automatic MWB Mercedes Sprinter, and she's the sweet spot so many of you keep asking for: an automatic gearbox and a medium wheelbase. Easy to drive, easy to park, fits in a normal parking space without the drama, and still sleeps and seats four. If you've been waiting for the van that does proper off-grid adventure without feeling like you're piloting a lorry, this is her.
The brief was the ultimate off-grid base for wild adventures. The interior is a cool, sensible exterior paired with a vibrant playful inside: laminated birch cabinets in green and apricot, walls in hazel and beige fabric with lacquered birch in contrasting hues, custom green upholstery, treated cork flooring, and a marine-style light grey ceiling with a birch plywood lightbar running through it. Sleeping four with a fixed standard double on a custom 6-inch Reflex foam mattress and a second double in the pop-top, and seating four with four belted seats, Artemis is a genuine four-person tourer. Everyone rides, everyone sleeps.
And she's seriously capable when the hookups run out. A completely gas-free setup with a Fogstar Drift 300Ah 24V lithium battery, equivalent to 600Ah at 12V, 350W of solar across two panels, a Victron MultiPlus-II 3000VA inverter charger, and around four days of off-grid energy without charging a thing. A 2025 base van with roughly 10,000 miles on the clock, automatic, fully ULEZ compliant, and MOT not due until 2028. Automatic. MWB. Off-grid for days. That's the headline.
