Mindful Play Policy
Safer Play and the Prize Draw Code
How we look after you, how our draws work, and where to get help if you need it
VannyCampers Ltd • Updated: 7 September 2026
1. Introduction
VannyCampers is a signatory to the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators, published by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in November 2025. The Code sets out how prize draw operators should protect players, run fair and transparent draws, and hold themselves to account. Prize draws are not licensed gambling, but we know that spending on them still needs to be kept in control, and we want everyone who plays with us to enjoy it without spending more than they can comfortably afford.
This page explains, in plain English, what we do and what tools are available to you. It is written to match the three parts of the Code: player protection, transparency and accountability.
2. Our approach
Entering a prize draw should be fun. To keep it that way, we ask you to set yourself a budget before you enter and stick to it, to only ever spend money you are comfortable not getting back, never to try to make up for a draw you did not win by entering more, to take breaks, and to use the tools below whenever they would help. If you ever feel that playing has stopped being enjoyable, the tools and the support services on this page are there for you.
3. Tools available to you
3.1 Spending limits. You can set your own monthly spending limit in your account, at any amount you choose including £0. The limit covers everything you pay us for entries in a calendar month, one off tickets and subscriptions together, so you cannot go over it by switching between the two. Once you reach your limit, no further paid entries are possible until the month resets. Lowering a limit takes effect straight away. This tool is being rolled out in the week of 7 September 2026; if you do not yet see it in your account, email info@vannycampers.co.uk and we will set your limit for you.
3.2 Take a break. In the Customer Protection area of your account you can lock your account for one month or three months. While locked you cannot enter competitions or check out, any subscriptions are paused and will not restart on their own, and you will not receive marketing from us. Once set, a lock stays in place until the period ends.
3.3 Account suspension. The same tool lets you suspend your account for six or twelve months. This works in exactly the same way as a break but for longer, and it cannot be shortened once set.
3.4 Account closure. If you want to stop for good, you can lock your account permanently. You can also ask us to close your account by emailing info@vannycampers.co.uk.
3.5 Credit cards. In line with the Code, no account can spend more than £250 a month on credit cards across everything we sell, and credit cards cannot be used at all through PayPal on our site. We do not run instant win competitions, so no credit card payment is ever taken for one.
3.6 Age. Our competitions are for adults only. You must give your date of birth when you create an account, existing customers are asked for it when they next log in, and every winner must pass an identity check before a prize is released. Our advertising is never targeted at under 18s.
4. How we look out for you
Our systems and our team look for signs that someone may be getting into difficulty, such as sharply rising spend, repeated changes of payment method, repeatedly hitting a spending limit, or distress in live stream chat or messages. Where we see them we take a proportionate step, which may be getting in touch, capping spend, locking the account or refusing further entries. If you tell us you are struggling, we will point you to the right support and offer to lock your account there and then.

6. How our draws work
6.1 Drawn live. Every campervan draw is decided live on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube using a physical five chamber ball machine, the same type of machine used as standard across the UK prize draw sector. The balls are loaded on camera before every draw and the winning number is matched to the published entry list in real time. If the machine ever cannot be used, we fall back to a publicly visible, auditable random number generator and show the seed, the range and the result on the live stream. Auto draw competitions are decided by an automated random number generator at the published closing time.
6.2 The laws of chance. Every prize is awarded by chance alone. No skill, judgement or knowledge affects the outcome, and every entry, paid or postal, has an equal chance of winning each prize.
6.3 Free entry on every competition. Every competition has a free postal entry route, shown in the ticket selector on the competition page before you buy anything. Postal entries have exactly the same odds as paid entries. Full instructions are in section 5 of our Terms and Conditions.
6.4 Your odds, before you enter. Each competition page shows the maximum number of tickets, how many have been sold, how many are left, and your odds per ticket. Full entry lists are published before each draw and stay online afterwards.
6.5 No prize reduction, ever. If a competition sells fewer tickets than we hoped, the advertised prize still goes to the winner. We do not substitute a lower value prize, move a draw date or cancel a draw because of low sales.
6.6 Cash alternatives and prompt payment. Where a cash alternative is offered, the figure is on the competition page and the winner chooses. Cash prizes are paid within seven business days of identity verification, and campervans are handed over at our headquarters in Bristol. Winners are announced on the live stream and, with their consent, on our social channels.
7. Keeping ourselves honest
We review our compliance with the Code every quarter and fix anything that has slipped. Anyone who works with us on our competitions, including content creators, converters and delivery partners, is expected to follow the same standards, and we will end a relationship where they do not. We are happy to share what we have learned with other operators and with DCMS, and we will keep this page up to date as we add to what we do. Where a competition includes a charitable contribution, we publish who received it, how much and when at vannycampers.co.uk/charity-partners.
8. Something not right? Tell us
If you have seen something on our site, on our social channels or in a live draw that does not match what is on this page, we want to know. Email complaints@vannycampers.co.uk with the subject "Official Complaint". We will acknowledge within two business days and give you a full response within fourteen business days, and if you are not happy with that you can ask for a director to review it. Our full Complaints Policy explains the process. If we cannot resolve a Code related complaint to your satisfaction, you can also raise it with DCMS at prizedrawcode@dcms.gov.uk.
9. Want the detail?
Every commitment on this page is written into our Terms and Conditions, where Appendix A maps each paragraph of the Code to the clause that delivers it. Our Subscription Terms, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy fill in the rest. The full text of the Code is at gov.uk. We will update this page whenever what we do changes.
